DR. LAURA B. CHRISTOPHER
Short Bio
Dr. Laura B. Christopher is the Co-Pastor of Emmanuel Church, which she and her husband founded in 1981. She began speaking at the age of 14 on the youth speaking circuit within the National Baptist Organization and Gospel Temple Baptist Church, under the tutelage and pastorate of Rev. Neasbie Alston. She preached her first official sermon in 1975. She holds an earned Theological Doctorate Degree in Ministry (D. Min.) from Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla, GA. She has also furthered her education by attending the following schools: State Technical Institute, Memphis, TN and Liberty University LUSLL, Lynchburg, VA.
Dr. Christopher is involved in many facets of ministry, including:
- Visionary and founder of Daughters are Prophesying Conferences International, founded in 1995; the book "Daughters are Prophesying" authored in 1998.
- Transforming Truths Teaching Ministry, founded in 1997.
- Professor of Church History, Hermeneutics, Homiletics at Vision Seminary and School of Ministry.
- Managing Editor, GAP Christian Magazine and God with Us Publications.
- i.f.i. (Independents Fellowship International) Women’s Department Leader
Dr. Christopher is married to Bishop Roger Christopher, her husband of 39 years. She is the mother of two, Psalmist Clarissa R.C. Jenkins, and Rev. Jerroll T. Christopher. She is the proud grandmother of Roger Frederick Jenkins, 9 years old and Justin Thomas Holmes Christopher, 2 years old. She is also a lover of family and was caregiver to her 99 year-old grandfather who recently deceased and her 81-year old mother, who resides in her home.
Dr. Christopher's actions prove that she loves people, but most importantly, she loves God. She has devoted her life to fulfilling the purpose that God designed her for, and that is perfecting the saints through relevant teaching Edifying the body through power-packed preaching and working the ministry unto the increase of unfeigned faith in the people of God.
